How to reconcile your Swiggy payout, line by line
· 8 min read
Every Swiggy settlement comes with an annexure: a workbook that explains how the money that reached your bank was arrived at. Most restaurants glance at the final figure and move on. Reconciling it — checking that the payout is what it should have been — is how you confirm the commission matches your agreement, that every cancelled order was credited the way it should be, and what each charge was for.
What is in a Swiggy payout annexure
The weekly settlement and the monthly annexure carry the same few sheets. The two that matter for reconciliation are:
- Payout Breakup — the summary. Every line of the period, split into delivered and cancelled orders, ending on the net payout.
- Order Level — one row per order, with the customer's bill, every fee Swiggy charged on it, the taxes, and what that order paid out.
- Growth Investment Other Charges — the charges and refunds applied to the period rather than to any order: ad campaigns, onboarding fees, refunds of either.
The Payout Breakup, top to bottom
Swiggy writes the breakup as a running calculation. Charges are negative, so you can add every line to reach the payout. The main lines are:
| Line | What it is |
|---|---|
| Total Customer Paid | What customers were charged: item total, packaging, less the discounts you funded, plus GST. |
| Restaurant Discounts | Coupons and offers you funded. They reduce what the customer paid and what you receive. |
| GST Collected | The 5% GST on the food, added to the customer's bill. |
| Swiggy Fees | Commission, long distance charges, payment collection charges, Swiggy One fees, call centre charges. |
| Customer Complaints & Cancellation Charges | Refunds for complaints and your share of cancelled orders. |
| Growth Investment In Ads | Advertising charged to the period — not to any single order. |
| Other Charges and Refunds | Everything else charged or refunded against the period, listed line by line underneath. |
| Total Taxes | GST deduction, TCS, TDS, and 18% GST on Swiggy's service fee. |
| Net Payout | What was paid. The orders' own net payout in the order columns; the final figure in the Total column. |
How the net payout is worked out
The Net Payout row has two figures that are easy to confuse. The Delivered and Cancelled columns show the net payout on your orders — before anything charged against the period. The Total column is after it. The two are connected by one sum:
Net payout on orders − Growth Investment in Ads − other charges + refunds = Net Payout (Total)
If your order-level payouts add up to the first figure, and the lines in between explain the gap to the second, the statement reconciles. If they do not, the difference is money to ask about.
Checking every order
The summary can be right while individual orders are wrong. To check an order, rebuild its payout from the Order Level sheet:
- Start from what the customer paid for that order.
- Take off commission, at the rate you agreed — not only the rate the sheet says it used.
- Take off payment collection and any other fee on the row.
- Take off 18% GST on those fees, and the taxes withheld.
- Compare the result with the order's net payout. Anything more than a rupee or so is worth a look.
Doing this by hand for a few orders is quick. Doing it for every order of every outlet, every week, is where spreadsheets give up — and where small differences are easy to miss.
What usually turns up
- Commission at a rate different from your agreement, often on a subset of orders.
- Cancelled orders that should have been credited to you but were not.
- Long distance or other fees on orders where you expected none.
- Charges under Other Charges and Refunds that are worth asking about.
- Refunds — an ads refund, an upfront payment returned — that are easy to miss because they are positive.
MenuMetrics does this for every order in every file you upload: it rebuilds each payout from the platform's own columns, checks it against what settled, and lists what does not tie — with the arithmetic — ready to raise as a claim.
